Repair of damaged moulded insert I.

How we are able to completely repair a broken part to make it like new using 3D metal printing and CNC machining.

Speed of repair

Assignment

We were given the task of repairing a damaged moulded insert and were provided with a 3D CAD model of the original. This model served as a detailed guide and reference point during the repair process. It allowed us to accurately analyze the original design and structure of the insert, giving us a clear idea of what the final result should look like.

How we repaired the liner

First, we focused on thoroughly preparing the damaged shape. We prepared and cut the surface enough to rebuild the damaged part. Using 3D printing, we then gradually built the new shape directly on the insert, which allowed us to achieve high precision and restore the original design.

Once the 3D printing was complete, we machined the new shape on a CNC machining centre to its final form. This process involved precision cutting and milling to ensure the final shape met all technical specifications. Using this method, we efficiently and precisely repaired the damaged area and restored its functionality.
